Morjes!

Welcome to my blog. I write about fitting in, sticking out, and missing the motherland as a serial foreigner.

Downton Abbey 6.5 (SPOILERS)

WELL. Wasn’t expecting quite that much blood with my Downton Abbey, but well played, show! I confess that, like Thomas, I hadn’t been sure I cared one way or the other, but I did feel relief when I heard Lord Grantham is probably going to be ok!

In other news, Branson continues to be THE BEST. He is just the best. He is the breath of fresh air in this season that I thought Matthew Goode was going to be but is not (yet).

I appreciated the Evelyn Napier reference. That man. It would serve us all right if he swooped in during the Christmas special (which I assume is the last episode) and eloped with Mary.

I continue to not care about the hospital. I literally can’t even remember who is arguing for which side anymore.

Even though they are beating a horse that is pretty dead by having every scene featuring Thomas be about how mean Andy is to him…I feel for him. Just be nice to Thomas, ok?

Uh-oh, I’ve uncovered a Julian Fellowes tic, and it’s that Lady Violet always comes into that one room unexpectedly, and it’s always when Edith is there, and she always says something like “oh Granny, what are you doing here?” Now that I’ve pointed it out, it’s all that you’ll notice, too.

What was that Freaky Mary Ponders Parentage of Marigold scene all about? The music was all creepy-like! Doesn’t Mary remember that like, last week, she was saying how she wants to emulate Sibyl a little more? Sibyl would not sell out her own sister to, say, the Turkish Embassy, or a potential suitor, MARY.
