Morjes!

Welcome to my blog. I write about fitting in, sticking out, and missing the motherland as a serial foreigner.

Other Bridget 2019

Other Bridget 2019

My international alter-egos are out there living their best lives! Here’s what Other Bridget has been up to:

Signed up for an early childhood education class.

Went to an exhibition featuring Other Bridget’s mom’s art!

Became one of Lowe’s board of investors?? I get financial updates, anyway.

Joined NextDoor.

Was encouraged to share the following inspirational quote with Other Bridget’s brother: “Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.“

Worked extremely halfheartedly on her MLM (yaaaaaayyyyy!).

Ordered Little Caesar’s pizza!

Went to physiotherapy.

Was asked to submit an incident report about something that happened at her kid’s school!

Signed up for a CBD trial!

Was invited to someone’s graduation!

Made some hotel reservations for some pretty cool places.

Kept getting emails about some company I’ve never heard of and when I told them they had the wrong person they WROTE BACK and asked to be pointed in the right direction. Um, I do not have a directory of all the Other Bridgets. Would that it were, would that it were.

Closed on a house.

Donated to a children’s hospital.

Sent one of her kids on a trip with the grandparents.

Looked into selling a liquor license.

Got invited to a school board retreat.

Had her son invited to a paintball birthday party!!

Bought tickets for a dance festival.

Was reminded to check in on her daughter’s math homework online platform.

Requested an event booking with Reindeer Magic and Miracles which, quite frankly, sounds amazing.

The best Other Bridget encounter since the last blog post was when I got an email inviting “my” daughter to someone’s birthday party, as per yuzh. I had the following text exchange with my brother Steven:

So I did! I dropped this in the RSVP comment box:

The birthday girl’s mom “liked” the picture…and then emailed me to ask me to actually RSVP so she could continue planning for the party.

Her nonchalant reaction to my shenanigans means, my friends, that putting Nicolas Cage Bird Hair down in the RSVP box WAS SOMETHING OTHER BRIDGET WOULD DO. Which means I think we would be friends??
