Morjes!

Welcome to my blog. I write about fitting in, sticking out, and missing the motherland as a serial foreigner.

TAR deal-breaker

I would love to be on The Amazing Race someday. Sometimes while watching old seasons, it's fun to think how Jeremy and I would do on all the challenges. There was one season where I thought we would have done really well - they spent a long time in Russia and the final city was Portland. And of course, it's always fun to see stuff like that contestant meltdown in Dubai where she wouldn't go down a waterslide, not even for a million dollars.

I feel for that woman, because I have my deal-breakers, too. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one TAR challenge that I 100% could not have done. The teams were in Azerbaijan and the challenge was to go through a helicopter crash simulation...underwater. That is so much NOPE for me. The water, the upside-down, the finding your way out of a "crashed" helicopter. NOPE NOPE NOPE.

So that's my TAR deal-breaker. Water slide, fine. Helicopter crash, NOPE.
